Three cases of Bochdalek hernia in infants were evaluated and treated at W.M.B.H.
Two patients had hernias through the posterolateral foramen of the left diaphragm, but one patient had it through the defect of the right posterior diaphragm.
Through the left side defect, stomach, spleen, colon, jejunum and great omentum were herniated and in the right side, only liver was herniated. All three patients had no hernial sacs.
With this cases report, historical background, embryology, symptomatology, differential diagnosis and surgical treatment from literature are discussed in this paper.
